Yeah I know, harder said than done. But them people don't understand when you say "no im not" that after years of seeing these flaws or people pointing them out to you, how do you expect us to believe you in one minute. At the moment, I'm feeling more insecure than I have ever felt. I'm 15 and care too much about what others think of me when really I should ignore them but i dont.
Apparently people with insecurities have trouble with some of these :
- Defend when they should explore.
- Take things personally.
- Blame higher ups for tough decisions.
- Don’t trust others because they don’t trust themselves.
- Can’t say no.
- Threaten, intimidate, and coerce.
- Shut down input from others because feedback is frightening.
- Micromanage.
- Won’t delegate.
- Yell.
- Backstab.
- Create teams of yes-men.
- Illustrate their competence and successes too frequently.
- Hoard knowledge.
- Delay decisions and then flip flop after.
- Seem snobbish.
- Crave positional authority and respect.
- Nitpick and belittle.
- Share blame and take credit.
- Name drop.
It's always one thing after the other with insecurities. Too many spots, bags under your eyes, a bit extra belly fat, bulky legs, bony arms, weird looking hips and the list goes on.
Now I know we are entitled to have insecurities, its apart of life. But its not the best part. Comparing your self to other girls is the worst thing you can do when you feel crappy about yourself. Just think this, when your wishing for their flat stomach or muscles...they might think I want your hair or legs about you. It might not even be looks, they might be envious of your confidence or happiness.
Everyone...and I mean everyone....even beyonce...is insecure about something about themselves. It could be they are insecure about doing sport infront of people because they don't like the way they run to the way their hips stand out. Some people are more confident than others, they cover up...sometimes even show off what they hate about themselves to get over it. They forget about it. And yeah I know, when your standing infront of the mirror in your underwear and you see what you hate its horrible. I get upset sometimes, I will hate myself and have a bad day...maybe even week. Remember that you see yourself in a mirror every single day. You see every part of your body whereas everyone else don't. They aren't going to sit there staring at you for ages unless they are freaks. You are obviously going to see them flaws and you won't notice it change because you see it so much.
You have to learn to love your body. We aren't manufactured into specific moulds. If we were all the same perfect person then there would be no fun, exciting and daring things. We would be the same and thats boring. Its harder said than done when you have serious issues with it but just remember, you have that body for a really long time and nearly all your life it is changing and you have the power to change it. If you will feel better, go on a diet. You don't have to, but if that will make you feel better about yourself...do it! Do what makes you happy, not anyone else. Wear things you love and think you look great in because believe me you probably do! Know that people love you and your body that comes with it.
Here are some little things I do to make myself more confident and feel better about myself :)
-Every month or week, list 2-5 things you love and hate about yourself. Then you can aim for the next month to have changed one of the hates to loves. Also your accepting the fact you have flaws BUT also the things you love.
-Spend more time with people who love you for you. When your with fake friends or people your trying to impress, you going to feel insecure about what they think of you so be with people who don't care what you look like or smell like ;)
-Have a chilled, relaxed conversation about it with your friends. You will find that your not the only one that doesn't like something and it will make you feel less alone! Also talk about the things you do love about yourself:)
-Take a walk! Go for a nice walk somewhere safe and just clear your mind and also know you belong in this world! Look at the surroundings and know you have a purpose and so much potential!
-Trust people and be kind. Don't be a total bitch. People are going to hate you if you yourself sit and judge people on their insecurities so respect other people.
Just love yourself....please.
